Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church began in 1978 when a small group of dedicated families wanted to create a Presbyterian church in the newly developing Anaheim Hills.The founding pastor for this budding congregation was Reverend Michael Landreth.The original congregation chartered June 3, 1979, Pentecost Sunday, with ninety four members and today we have grown to over five hundred members.Our first worship location was the People’s Federal Savings and Loan. The following Sunday we moved to El Rancho Junior High, then into what is now Crescent Intermediate, and finally into our new beautiful church buildings at 190 S. Fairmont Avenue, Anaheim Hills, California. Our exciting spiritual journey immediately saw a steady increase in attendance and the development of music and Christian Education programs for the children on Sunday mornings.As the years have gone by we have extended our ministry to include a strong junior and senior high school youth group program, a college and young career group program and other small ministry groups to meet the needs of our diverse congregation.We have a strong commitment to Mission in both our community and internationally.For twenty years our senior high youth group, under the leadership of our Associate Pastor, Rev. Lissa Smith, has been building homes in Tijuana, Mexico.We are also proud of our Kenya Mission and the orphanages and medical center we have developed, staffed and continue to support. Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church is a warm and welcoming environment where families can congregate and worship together with other Christian families who want to be a part of celebrating the divine love and life of Jesus Christ.
