Greetings all!
There is much to catch up on this week. Two worship services, a sermon coming from Mark 9:2-9. Jesus takes James, John, and Peter up on a mountaintop with him and they are in for quite an experience!
But that is not all! Lent begins this week, but not until we have many pancakes tomorrow! The annual pancake breakfast at church is tomorrow! The men’s breakfast bunch is providing all the cooking expertise. This will be my first, but I have had some of the pancakes the men cook, and they can cook! In fact, they cook so good that everyone should bring a friend or two for pancakes and worship!
We will be marking the beginning of Lent with a service of worship on Wednesday, February 22 at 7 pm. Prepare your hearts and minds for worship and, should you desire, the imposition of ashes. The ashes are a mark of distress, a sign of mourning, and a sign of repentance.
The congregational gathering last Saturday went well, the surveys are being tabulated and many of you have received an e-mail with a link to an online version of the survey. The surveys will be used to help us focus all our ministry endeavors on what we believe God is calling us to be and do. Thanks much to all those who came out and participated in the gathering. Your commitment to Canyon Hills is strong and I thank you for that!
Blessings on you all,
See you tomorrow, ready for worship and pancakes!
