Making Something Beautiful

God knows the world needs more beauty and goodness these days. Jesus purposely reminded his followers to “consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these” (Matthew 6:28-29).

This image not only calls us to trust in God’s abundance, rather than “toiling” and “spinning” in worries about scarcity but also reveals the sign of God’s care for the lilies in their glorious goodness, their sheer beauty. For Jesus, the simple splendors of the world are vivid marks of God’s love.

The same is true of Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. At our best, we’re a beautiful community, a sign of God's love, doing all we can to bring more goodness and beauty into the world. You may make your pledge online (link below) or you can return the pledge card, that has been mailed to your home address, to the church office or in person to our Beauty Festival on October 25 during worship as a chance to join in God’s beautiful spirit of abundant generosity.  Large or small, every gift is a marvel. Regardless of your ability to pledge or give financially at this time, we are encouraging everyone to pledge your time toward current or future mission work. All pledges, whether time or treasure, are a pledge of support. After all, a single lily outshines Solomon! All we have to do is trust in God, open our hearts, and make something beautiful together.
